Jan Chard  provides clinical  evaluations and treatment at 4241 B. St. Suite 301  ;  however, home visits and community activities beyond the walls of the clinical setting are provided when appropriate for the client.  During home visits, Jan is able to observe the client within his/her natural environment  which aides in structuring therapy and allows for practical demonstrations of techniques which may be used by parents/caregivers.  Examples of the therapeutic benefit of community activities include but are not limited to an individual with autism struggling with the social use of language or perhaps an individual  with fluency issues avoiding contact with the public;  these clients would benefit from the opportunity  to practice their skills within the community with the therapeutic guidance of Jan.

Jan Chard, M.A., CCC-SLP, is the owner of Anchorage Speech Beyond the Walls and the therapist who aims to enable clients to move beyond the walls of the communication barriers of speech, language, and fluency.  Jan, a mother of 5, has worked as a speech pathologist for nineteen years.   She continues to meet the needs of individuals within Alaska as a licensed speech-language pathologist with an American Speech and Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology.
